How 9/8 works

Nine eighth notes to a bar, usually in three groups of three, with accents on 1, 4 and 7. That’s the rhythm of a slip jig. Some music groups it 2 + 2 + 2 + 3 instead, as in Blue Rondo à la Turk.

The metronome can click all nine or just the three big beats: choose In 9 or In 3. Tap the lights to move the accents.
